With the 2012 London Olympics now just a matter of days away from kicking off, you may have thought your chance to catch a glimpse of the famous torch relay had passed you by. However, if you and your family are getting ready to enjoy one of the cheap caravan holidays available from Park Holidays UK, this isn’t the case.
We are very happy to say that we have made arrangements to host our very own official relay, giving our guests the opportunity to see and even hold an Olympic Torch in the comfort and picturesque surroundings of any of our 25 quality resorts along the south coast.
Starting on Tuesday 31st July at the Waterside site near Paignton, the relay will spend the following fortnight or so making its way around all of our holidays parks in South Devon, Dorset, Essex, Hampshire, Kent, Suffolk and Sussex.
You’ll find that our friendly teams across the Park Holidays UK parks will be putting on a fun selection of Olympic-inspired activities for both kids and grown-ups to join in with throughout the dates of the torch’s appearances to make the proceedings even more exciting, whilst anyone who misses out on the occasion will be happy to hear that one official torch will still be kept on display at each of our sites until the end of August.
As well as being a great unexpected surprise for any sports fans staying with us throughout the first part of this year’s summer holidays, our unique procession is also being put on with the aim of raising as much money as possible for The Children’s Trust, a charity which, as a family-based holiday group, we feel very strongly about.
