Get Your Teach On (GYTO), the educational movement energizing the K-12 teaching community, announces the fourth annual world-wide “Rock Your School” event will be held tomorrow, October 21, 2021. Over 17,000 educators from all 50 states and countries around the world will participate by creating an outside-the-box educational experience designed to engage their students and bring learning to life in their classrooms. The past school year has been more challenging than any other, and “Rock Your School” provides an opportunity for educators, school administrators, and local communities to come together and celebrate education. Participants in “Rock Your School” can try something new in their curriculum or challenge themselves and their students in new ways knowing they are not alone, they are joining a community of teachers world-wide who are all stretching themselves to find new ways to engage their students.
On October 21, 2021, the Get Your Teach On team will travel to the official 2021 “Rock Your School” host school, Skyline Elementary School in Cape Coral, Florida. Best-selling authors and highly acclaimed educators, Hope and Wade King, will lead professional development trainings with school leaders about how teachers can “rock their school” all year long. Hope and Wade, along with members of the Get Your Teach On team, will engage and entertain students at a school assembly and engage with participating schools around the world on social media.
Since Rock Your School’s inception in 2018, tens of thousands of educators from thousands of schools have participated in Rock Your School. GYTO received entries from schools in all 50 states, plus entries from around the world including Canada, Honduras, Jamaica, Australia, Bahrain, Jordan, and more. In the past, artists such as Paul Stanley and Nick Lachey supported Rock Your School, as well as world-renowned science teacher Steve Spangler (from Ellen) In fact, 98 Degrees have filmed a video to help spread the word.
Co-Founder of Get Your Teach On, Hope King, says, “Our mission is to engage as many teachers as possible, who in turn will engage and inspire literally millions of students. It all starts with us. If educators feel inspired, we can be the difference in a child’s life. We can help instill the joy of life-long learning in our students.”
