xByte Technologies Gives Back

xByte Technologies is a growing technology reseller that has double in the number of employees over the past 2 years. While regular team building events and monetary charitable donations have always been part of the company culture, xByte sought an opportunity to combine the two to create a memorable experience for employees and the community. On Tuesday, May 19, 2015, xByte painted Community Haven’s Friendship House, a group home for adults with disabilities.

“We’ve always made regular donations to charities throughout the community, but we wanted to do more and get involved. We recognize that donating time and resources can be just as valuable as donating money,” states HR Director, Dianne Callis.  “After seeing Community Haven’s corporate video, visiting the campus, and seeing all the resources they provide for disabled children, teens and adults in the community, we wanted to get involved.” xByte donated over $300 in painting supplies and 8hrs of paid-time for shifts of 27 employees to paint the inside of the group home.

Steve Hartman, Wholesale Account Rep says, “I consider myself fortunate to work for a company that puts an emphasis on giving back to the community. It was such a rewarding experience getting to know my co-workers better, while doing something impactful.”

The 4 different shifts throughout the day mixed employees from every department, encouraging those who don’t typically interact during the work day to get to know each other.

“As xByte grows, we want to maintain that level of family and community that we had when there was only a handful of employees. Based on the feedback, this has been one of everyone’s favorite team building events. We are looking forward to doing more in the community,” comments CEO, Ryan Brown.
