Earlier this month, Nick Nicora, Co-Owner of Ovations Food Services was nominated and won Venue Today’s coveted Hall of Headline Award in Concessions for his outstanding achievements in cooking the World’s Largest Commercially Available Hamburger, weighing in at 777 lbs in July, and Stitches ‘n Dishes is pleased to announce the release of never-before-seen video documentary footage on its Youtube channel.

Venues Today, the leading international trade publication covering the business side of entertainment and sports, particularly as it relates to venues, awards its most prestigious honor, the Hall of Headline Award every December. The award is given to members in four different categories – News, Bookings, Marketing and Concessions; individuals who have made a difference in the facilities industry.

“When I first heard that I was chosen for this award, my thoughts were looking back on past awards and I’m humbled to be ranked with winners such as Ken Young, President at Ovations Food Services and Norb Bartosik, President / CEO at California State Fair,” said Nicora.

Ovations FanFare hired Stitches ‘n Dishes to document the attempt to cook the World’s Largest Commercially Available Hamburger in photos and film for submission to the Guinness Book of Records in July, 2011 at the Alameda County Fair.

Christopher Ford, Co-Founder of Stitches ‘n Dishes said, “It was an incredible honor to be asked to record this historic event, and we couldn’t be happier for Nick. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award.”

Throughout his successful career, Nicora’s marketing and business development expertise has been sought after by both commercial and government organizations, including the California Department of Food and Agriculture, California Department of Fairs and Expositions, Western Fairs Association, California National Agriculture Day, The City of San Francisco, The Oakland Convention Bureau, 1987 Papal Visit to Monterey, 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, and Inaugural receptions for Governor Jerry Brown, Governor Pete Wilson 1991 & 1995 and Governor Grey Davis 1998 & 2002. Nick has also served on the California State Fair Advisory Board, Buy California Program and the California State Environmental Health Advisory Board. Stitches ‘n Dishes was honored to be selected as the official photographer for Ovations Food Services at Governor Jerry Brown’s inaugural reception in January of this year. Ovations is currently the go to caterer of the California Department of Food and Agriculture.
