Recent studies which have been conducted in the workplace have produced some results which may of paramount importance to employers. These studies found that being seated for extended periods of time throughout the working day actually has a detrimental effect on attention levels among the employees in the sample group. It was found that on average an employee who was seated for four hours only reached their optimum levels of productivity and attention for 40% of this time.
Those who conducted this study attributed the massive decrease in attention to the fact that these employees were unable to stand at periodic moments, ten minutes each hour. It was found that this ten minutes had a dramatic impact on attention rates and thus dramatically increased their levels of productivity.
