Veterans Give Back has launched a push to help provide teenagers with bright futures by mentoring them through fitness. The nonprofit organization currently seeks to provide scholarships, gym equipment, and more for teenagers who participate in CrossFit and similar programs.

Teenagers represent a large portion of the population and the country’s next generation. However, many teens are impoverished and essentially left to care for themselves mentally and spiritually. This is becoming a problematic yet systematic approach in our country, and Veterans Give Back looks to change this by providing an alternative path for success.

The organization feels that by providing teenagers with a fitness-based incentive, teens can build a better future for themselves while building strong, healthy bodies. “The Veteran community knows that a team that trains together succeeds together. And this is the concept we want to give back to America,” said the Veterans Give Back team. By bringing teens to social fitness, Veterans Give Back can teach them about working together as a team, boost their confidence, give them a better outlook on life, and offer scholarships to solidify their path to success.

The group of veterans has come together with the vision of giving back to a community that provided so much support for them during years past. A representative of Veterans Give Back commented, “Our Veteran community is undoubtedly thankful for all of the support received over the past 15 years of war….we now see it as our duty to give back to America.”

In the long run, Veterans Give Back aims to create a network of volunteer-operated facilities that offer free fitness instruction, training, equipment, and mentorship to troubled teens. Currently, the organization hosts Workout With a Veteran each Saturday morning. All teens are welcome to join at 10:30am in Dennis The Menace Park. Veterans Give Back also has a chapter in Knox.

The growing organization is also hosting a series of crowdfunding campaigns to raise the funds necessary to reach its goals and help troubled teens find a path to a better future. Veterans Give Back is accepting donations for the building of free Teen Centric CrossFit facilities, teen peer mentor development programs, fitness equipment, and volunteer training development.

With these donations, Veterans Give Back can put into place their extensive knowledge and expertise to help transform troubled teenagers into successful leaders of the future. More information about the vision and donation opportunities can be found at
