VersaTables, an environmentally friendly American furniture company, specializing in educational furniture, is donating $7,500 worth of furniture to Walt Whitman High School in Los Angeles, California. The furniture will be delivered to the school on Wednesday, December 4, 2013.
After a successful working relationship with LAUSD in the past, owner of VersaTables, Chris Laudadio, reached out to principal Conrad Tiu offering his donation to the school, which was in desperate need of new desks and chairs for both students and teachers. This was Laudadio’s way of giving back to LAUSD schools that are not well-funded and cannot afford to purchase new furniture for students or staff.
“Los Angeles schools like Walt Whitman High School are dedicated to creating a scholastic environment to help their students achieve the skills necessary to excel in the real world. I encourage fellow community members to also donate to LAUSD school to motivate and encourage students to reach higher goals” says Laudadio.
This isn’t the first time Laudadio has donated brand new furniture to help support education, nor is it his last. On December 14, 2013, VersaTables will be donating computer desks and chairs to The Brent Shapiro Foundation’s “Brent’s Club” at the Variety Boys and Girls Club in Boyle Heights. Brent’s Club, founded by famed attorney, Robert Shapiro, is a sober club that provides incentives for participants to abstain from the use of drugs and alcohol.
