Food safaris, wine-tasting tours, romantic getaways in private villas and spa treatments… They’re all things we’d like to do more often. But before you splash the cash on an experience, wouldn’t you like to know if it’s really worth the price tag?
The Great Aussie Bite is an online magazine and blog where you’ll find reviews of exciting food and lifestyle experiences from across Australia. There’s foodie fun with the likes of BBQ school and whisky appreciation classes, indulgent spa treatments and detox retreats in the health and spa section, and everything from hot air balloon rides to wilderness lodges in the travel and adventure section.
Try something new and exciting this weekend. Or perhaps find inspiration for a unique gift, or plan a hens or bucks do. With professional reviewers in QLD, NSW, VIC and WA, The Great Aussie Bite has Australia covered.
And at the end of each review there are all the links needed to book that experience – and often a discount code for The Great Aussie Bite readers.
The Great Aussie Bite was founded by multi-award-winning food critic and journalist Christina Wylie who writes for internationally acclaimed magazines and newspapers such as The Times, Time Out, Broadsheet, Traveler’s Digest, Wining & Dining and many more. Having worked as a professional reviewer for almost a decade, Christina realised there was a gap in the market for a site devoted to reviewing exciting food and lifestyle experiences in Australia.
“You’ve got websites like Red Balloon where you can go to buy experience-type gifts, but you don’t really know what it’s like to experience these things until you’ve already paid for it and actually do it.” Christina explains. “So we send out our professional reviewers to try out the experience, review it, and take amazing pictures so people can really get a real sense of what it’s like.”
“The goal of The Great Aussie Bite is to inspire people to do things that are out of the ordinary.” says Christina. “To take their loved one on a romantic weekend away, or go on a whisky tasting class with their mates. Just to inspire people to do things that makes their life, or even just their weekend, a little more exciting.”
