In late 2013 Deb Carr, who runs a social media marketing business decided to make her wish come true – to become a well-known lifestyle blogger, and in a short time she is well on her way of achieving that dream. “I have always wanted to have a blog about Lifestyle, and especially about the city I live in, Sydney. My goal is to keep the blog classy, there is a certain style that I want to keep”, says Ms Carr who established Sydney Chic, in November 2013.
Since establishing the blog, Ms Carr has invited eight other bloggers to come on board to help create content and reviews. Included in this list of bloggers is New York’s Astrologer, Jennifer Angel, radio personalities, lifestyle bloggers, professional speakers, personal brand expert, creative director and PR professionals.
Sydney Chic is a combination of an information website/blog and includes discount coupons, horoscopes, restaurant reviews, fashion reviews, theatre reviews, cafe reviews, art, events, music, wine, competitions. More recently, a forum is being set up for people to write their own reviews or talk about their favourite places and shops in Sydney.
“We are also all about Personal Brand”, says Carr who, along with Creative Director, Scarlett Vespa, recently launched a world-first workshop “The Personal Brand Creation Day”.
The one day workshop will have attendees focusing on and creating their personal brand, styling and makeup for video, shooting video, building a website, setting up social media and much more. By the end of the day attendees will have created their own website similar to this www.mydigitalprofile.com, have their own video filmed and edited professionally, a professional photo and social media set up. Carr and Vespa co-host a radio show on personal branding and online marketing called “The Media Madams”.
With PR companies knocking on the door and sending products for review, it looks like Sydney Chic is certainly making a name for itself as a reference place for ‘all things chic in Sydney’.
