Static Caravans & Mobile Homes are a popular getaway retreat for couples and families of all ages, whether it’s going on your own land or a caravan park; the ideas and uses are endless! However New Static Caravans or Mobile Homes can be pricey… could it be possible for us to build one for free?
We LOVE Kevin McCloud here at Sunrise Holiday Homes! From Grand Designs to his 2 part series Man Made Home where Kevin and friends build, from the ground up, a sustainable, eco-friendly Mobile Home made from only re-used and recycled materials!
He starts with the chassis from an old army trailer (which is colossally big and very sturdy!), fells two beautiful and perfectly bent oak trees as structural beams, and build around them! Along the way Kevin and Will (his marvel-minded engineering genius of a friend!) get into all sorts of crazy ideas, like creating bio-fuel from fat under the sewers of London… But it works! Even the windows are made on site, and uses urine and rabbit skins to produce the flue to hold them in!
What Kevin ends up with is a beautiful Log Cabin Mobile Home, with a drop down side wall, outside spa bath made from an old jet engine, log burner and so much more!
Perhaps one day Sunrise will build Mobile Homes like this… would you buy one? Well, in the meantime why not check out our cheap static caravans for sale!
