Stay at the LSE and visit the spectacular English Flower Garden

Industry: Travel & Leisure

To experience perhaps the most impressive garden display you will ever see, be sure to book accommodation at a bed and breakfast in London from the LSE soon

London (PRUnderground) August 10th, 2012

This summer has been a spectacular one for the UK’s capital, with the Olympic Games providing a huge boost to the city’s profile, confirming it as one of the world’s most exciting and culturally diverse destinations. Amongst the many highlights of the year’s celebrations to mark the occasion is the London 2012 Festival, which has featured an extraordinary selection of exhibitions, live performances, installations and more, all designed to reflect Britain’s unique character and how it has evolved through the ages.

If you are planning on staying at one of the LSE’s comfortable and affordable London hostels towards the end of this summer, you may want to visit an amazing project that has been undertaken as part of the festivities by Paul Cummins, a Midlands-based artist, known simply as the English Flower Garden.

A truly impressive feat, Cummins has created around 15,000 ceramic flowers, attached them to metal rods, and placed them in a series of locations across the country, including the Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden of London’s iconic Southbank Centre, where it will be free to view from August 31st until September 9th.

The ambitious work is intended to act as a tribute to the UK’s centuries-old love of all things horticultural, and will introduce people to stunning representations of a whole host of plants.

So, to experience perhaps the most impressive garden display you will ever see, be sure to book accommodation at a bed and breakfast in London from the LSE soon and see out the 2012 festival at a landmark artistic event.
