Offering a slice of paradise on the south coast, Lyme Regis has always been a popular destination for tourists looking for a traditional seaside experience. As well as featuring iconic landmarks like The Cobb and fantastic links for those looking to sample the delights of the Jurassic Coast, the Pearl of Dorset features a renowned events scene which attracts visitors throughout the year. Here are just some of the interesting goings on which you can enjoy during March.
The first is Taking the Museum Outside, an event which is sure to be of interest to those after a spot of culture during their stay in any of the Lyme Regis accommodation options. Its aim is to create contemporary artwork documenting the town both as it was in the past and how it is now. For those who are interested in attending, it takes place at The Hub on Church Street on 9, 16 and 23 March and is completely free to join in with.
Another event uses one of the town’s famous assets to its advantage: its sumptuous sandy beaches. Love Lyme’s Beaches Day takes place on the 23 March, offering family fun completely free of charge. All you have to do is turn up at 10am and enjoy a day full of laughs.
Fans of fine alcohol get ready to get excited, as the Lyme Regis Beer Festival returns on the 30 March, bringing fantastic live performances, fine food and, of course, a range of beers from local and national brewers. This occasion provides great value, considering that tickets are just £5 on the door or £4 in advance.
