San Francisco, CA (PRUnderground) April 25th, 2014

A humble one room studio in the heart of the Peninsula hosts the SF Actors Workshop, a school for kids, teens, and adults who are serious about working in the film and TV industry. Started only 4 years ago, the SF Actors Workshop, led by Giovannie Espiritu, has had impressive results from the start, with one of her first students, Rayna Sheftman, being flown to LA to test for the Ben Stiller comedy, “Little Fockers,” and another student, Celeste J., signing with the top talent agency William Morris Endeavor. More recently, student Michael Padilla booked a recurring role on four episodes of Taye Diggs’ new series, “Murder in the First,” teen student Graham Taylor signed with Schuller Talent Management (home to Anna Kendrick and Mos Def), and the Harvey Grimes Agency in LA, and Aujinee Douglas booked a national technology commercial.

Mary Ellen Davis, grandmother of Damien Davis, who just auditioned for the lead in Pixar’s new animated feature, “Giovannie demonstrates a profound knowledge of drama/acting and the industry. She is patient, nurturing, and demanding. Her interactions bring out the students’ best efforts and helps them bring out professional attitudes, which promote self-motivation and self-confidence.”

Graham Taylor, signed with Schuller Talent, and is going in this week for role in Disney’s Lab Rats and considered for the new Power Rangers re-boot, “Giovannie is about as close to a perfect acting coach as you’ll get. With patience, encouragement, and expertise she’s helped me achieve more in terms of acting experience than I had ever thought possible coming into the TV and film world. From commercials, to drama, to comedy, Giovannie has the know-how, and is eager to put you on the road to success. Every week is an exciting opportunity to better yourself through her guidance, I constantly find myself amazed at what I’ve learned and am able to perform. She’s helped me land multiple agents and a manager in Los Angeles, Giovannie is THE BEST!!!”

Giovannie Espiritu is giving a two-hour seminar on the different ways to properly get started in the TV and film industry, while exposing the scams and traps like the fly-by-night conventions, where parents or hopeful actors are asked to give thousands of dollars for a chance to meet agents and managers.
