Singer Monica Alcorano Takes Us Out For A Touch of Gold With New Video

Singer/ Songwriter, Model and recent ITV Take Me Out contestant Monica Alcorano unveils her new pop promo video for her song “Touch Is Gold”, shot on location in Tenerife, Spain. The video was directed, shot and edited by the song’s music producer and co-writer, OD Hunte, who music-wise has worked with the likes of Emile Sande and companies such as EA Sports.
Born in Tottenham, London to Greek and Italian parents, Monica started singing in her school choir from the age of 7. Her talent was spotted at an early age and she became the lead singer of the young choir group. In her early teens, Monica won many local talented contests in her town and at secondary school. Monica enrolled at the Amersham and Wycombe performing arts college and at 17, during the beginning of her second year, she was scouted by an Italian management and label company to go out to Rome and work with Italy’s most talented producers.
More recently however, Monica met and impressed EMI publishing signed Producer/writer OD Hunte (Emeli Sande, Leona Lewis, Wretch 32, EA Sports) and was signed to a development deal as OD saw the potential in Monica. Although it would have been easy to try to imitate her professional musical idols JLo, Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears, Monica has been instead striving to explore her own creative possibilities and draw fans into her own world of accessible pop.
Monica is no stranger to attention as a part time professional model but was surprised to be randomly scouted for ITV’s ‘Take Me Out’ series 6 which she appeared in but found no love on screen as she wasn’t picked for a date.
“I’m very pleased to be working with Monica as she’s a driven and talented artist, who apart from having commercial appeal, is a nice person and is willing to work hard to achieve her dreams” says OD Hunte. “Therefore, I’m helping her to facilitate that with my music and video productions and organizing her marketing strategy in order to build her career. She’s ambitious and wants her own reality TV show as well as her own perfume line so I’m looking into all of those branding and entertainment opportunities”, he concludes.
