Sunshine Makers Inc., the makers of Simple Green, are proud to present the most robust and ambitious edition of the Simple Green US Open of Handball to date. The 23rd Annual Naty Alvarado Handball Classic will be held from October 24-27, 2013 at Los Caballeros Sports Village located at 17272 Newhope Street in Fountain Valley, CA 92708.
With tournament cash awards of over $120,000 and athletes representing countries from all over the world, the Simple Green US Open is attracting elite athletes, making this event a “who’s who” of handball players.
In addition to the increased purse size, the Simple Green US Open 2013 will be distinguished by the the addition of “1 wall”, which has created speculation and drama of who will win the “1 wall” event and who will win the “3 wall” event. “1 wall” is typically dominated by the New Yorkers and “3 wall” by the southern Californians.
Presenting sponsor Simple Green is joined by event director Naty Alvarado Sr., the world’s greatest handball player. “Last year’s tournament set a very high standard for one of the fastest growing sports in the world today,” stated Alvarado. “The prizes have increased by 20% and many of the athletes have stepped-up their preparation for this tournament. We expect the level of competition to be at an all-time high.”
The tournament will feature a terrific combination of United States Handball Association USHA) and the World Players of Handball (WPH). The best men and women handball players in the world will be on display at this event.
This year’s tournament is the fulfillment of a dream by Naty Alvarado and Simple Green Founder Bruce FaBrizio’s to create a “Festival of Handball” where all best players of different versions of the sport are in one place at one time. The Los Caballeros Sports Club is the perfect venue for the biggest handball event of the year!
