Although only recently experiencing international success, they began their quest into music with the release of Asleep in the Back in 2001, a praised release which stood as an exciting platform for what was yet to come. After building a strong fan base through their next two albums (2003’s A Cast of Thousands and Leaders of the Free World in 2005), it was the release of their fourth record, The Seldom Seen Kid, which was to propel them to international acclaim in 2008. The album debuted at number 5 on the UK Album Charts and was the recipient of the Mercury Prize for that year.
By the time Build a Rocket Boys! arrived in early 2011, they had cemented their status amongst the hottest acts currently in the UK, with the album debuting at number 2 and selling more than 78,000 copies in its first week. Many fans are already looking towards the release of Dead in the Boot, with the much anticipated B-Sides compilation hitting the shelves in August.
Elbow will be bringing their incredible tunes to London’s O2 Arena on the 2nd December, with tickets set to become available from the 27th July.
