Speakers Series announced today that the College of Business Administration at California State University Sacramento, a long-time sponsor of the Series, has agreed to sponsor the upcoming 2014-2015 season. This exciting season begins on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 with food pioneer Alice Waters speaking during Sacramento’s own Farm to Fork week. The series lineup also features former Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates, world renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma, television journalist Anderson Cooper, long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad and New York Times columnist David Brooks. Sacramento State University will be recognized at the Anderson Cooper engagement on January 20, 2015.

Managing principal and attorney Mitchell Ostwald is particularly proud of the Speakers Series partnership with the College of Business Administration, “which for more than 50 years has developed business leaders who possess top management skills,  along with a deep understanding of the responsibilities not  only to their business, but just as importantly, to their community. Some 24,000 business school alumni remain in the Sacramento region, fueling the success of our vibrant economy.”

Celebrating its 10th anniversary season, Sacramento Speakers Series offers an impressive list of leaders, authors, scientists, and visionaries, each chosen on the basis of career achievements, unique expertise in a particular field of endeavor, and ability to communicate their particular passion to the audience. The Sacramento Speakers Series is a community lecture series that provides an open forum for a free discussion of timely and important issues by nationally acclaimed speakers. Ostwald described the series as “an extraordinary community experience that gives our patrons an opportunity to hear about and question renowned and influential people from a wide variety of backgrounds on an even wider variety of topics.”
