ParkMyCloud to exhibit simple yet powerful tool that reduces AWS cloud computing costs by 20% or more in just 15 minutes by “parking” idle instances
Sterling, VA (PRUnderground) October 6th, 2015
ParkMyCloud, the only lightweight app that lets Amazon Web Services (AWS) users schedule on/off times for their idle, non-production cloud computing services, today announced announced that it will be a sponsor of and exhibiting at the Amazon Web Services re:Invent conference.
At the conference, ParkMyCloud will highlight several post-launch additions to its product feature set, including a parking recommendation policy engine designed to identify and notify the user about “parkable” instances based on a discoverable recommendation feature.
ParkMyCloud was founded on the premise that the cloud should be a true utility like power, water or gas. Imagine how much money you’d waste if you left all of the lights and appliances on when you’re not home. Hundreds of thousands of cloud users are in the exact same situation—wasting hundreds of millions of dollars paying for idle cloud computing services.
“Our research shows that AWS users are crying out for a simple, standalone tool to help manage AWS costs without having to use custom scripts to manage idle resources.” said Jay Chapel, founder and CEO. “ParkMyCloud can help companies send hundreds of millions of dollars in reduced cloud computing costs straight to their bottom line.”
Tags affiliated with specific compute services in the ParkMyCloud dashboard can be used for managing and optimizing EC2 instances. In addition, ParkMyCloud makes recommendations of instances that are good candidates to be parked, based on editable keywords, such as dev, test and QA.
AWS re:Invent is the largest gathering of the global Amazon Web Services community and expects 14,000+ attendees this year. ParkMyCloud is a bronze sponsor and will be booth #641.
Attendees who stop by the ParkMyCloud will be eligible to register for two raffles. One is a remote controlled UDI Quadcopter and the other is for Pebble SmartWatch.
