New England’s first LGBTQ Veterans Organization- OUTVETS is an organization focused on the sacrifice and service of LGBTQ Veterans and their families. OUTVETS is working to develop camaraderie amongst members of the Armed Services who have served and/or have been discharged in light of being gay. OUTVETS will strive to highlight the sacrifices these members have made while in the service of the United States, and is a non-partisan, non-political organization with a mission to promote awareness, civic engagement, and a living history of all LGBTQ Veterans.

On November 11, 2014 OUTVETS will be the first LGBTQ Veterans organization to march in Boston’s famed Veterans Day Parade.

OUTVETS is accepting applications for membership from all military veterans, families and allies who want to honor the sacrifice and tireless service of these brave American Heroes. “The sole purpose of OUTVETS is to recognize and honor the service and sacrifice of LGBTQ Veterans, their families and their allies.” Says OUTVETS founder and National Commander, Bryan Bishop.  “For the first time in our Nation’s history, gay service members and Veterans are playing on a more level playing field and it is time we recognize those individuals who not only served under fire in a war or conflict but simultaneously fought a war of ideals with the very Nation they were fighting, and in some cases dying, to protect.  This Veterans Day, OUTVETS will be the first LGBTQ Veteran organization to march openly in a major Veterans Day parade and we are honored to represent the many LGBTQ Veterans who have served and are serving this great Nation”
