Social and Fraternal Organization Celebrating and Honoring the Contributions of America\\\\\\\\’s LGBTQ Veterans. VISION AND INITIATIVES OUTVETS vision is to create an organization that fosters community and esprit de corps among Veterans within in the LGBT Community as well as with the Veteran community as a whole. This goal will be achieved through community service projects and partnerships with other Veteran and social services organizations. OUTVETS Proposed Inauguaral Initiatives will include but not be limited to: Living History Project – Memorializing the service of LGBTQ Veterans through stories of serving in various eras and the struggles and reards incurred by all. Monument and Memorial – Forming a strategic planning team to research a location and the oversight of the developent of a memorial to LGBTQ service. LGBTQ Veterans Retreat Week – This week will bring together LGBTQ Veterans from all over the nation and the world for socializing as well as workshops on legal issues, medical issues and substance abuse, financial awareness and community outreach.
