Online car hire comparator works with Brake to raise awareness of dangers on UK roads

Road safety awareness is the order of the day with the new ‘Road Sense’ campaign launched by car hire comparator The award-winning website has partnered with safety charity Brake to promote greater care and attention on Britain’s roads this winter.

The focus of this year’s Road Sense campaign is that of drivers trying to save money on essential motoring checks, in spite of the potentially hazardous consequences which can result.

Brake reports that road crashes are the largest killer of young people in the UK, citing careless speeding and reckless overtaking as reasons for this. Inexperience and risk-taking are key factors and Brake says that while one in eight British drivers is under 25, one in four major accidents involves someone of that age.

“2011 will mark our sixth Road Sense campaign, and every year we set out to promote safe, responsible driving among UK motorists,” added Gareth. “Drivers need to pay attention to advice from organisations like Brake to lower the number of avoidable incidents throughout the UK.”
