Mom-Driven Business Conference Helps Women “Grow” to Higher Income

This spring’s Mom Grows a Business Conference will equip women entrepreneurs with the financial resources and networking opportunities they need to grow their businesses, their influence, and their earning power. The conference is a follow-up to 2013’s Mom Gets a Business Conference, both founded by Patty Lennon, a local entrepreneur, life/business coach, and mother of two young children.

The one-day event will be held at the CV Rich Mansion in White Plains, New York on April 25th. In an atmosphere inspired by women’s history – where the Women’s Club of White Plains originated in 1904 – 200 attendees will create step-by-step business plans, begin to build support networks, and inspire the confidence they need to invest in their futures.

“Women tend not to invest in their businesses, and they don’t have the mentorship to show them how,” Lennon explained. “Mom Grows a Business will address these needs by providing mentorship from our speakers, both on stage and in more intimate conversations. We’ll also focus on new ways women can get money for their businesses, including crowd-funding and non-traditional lending sources.”

Lennon designed this year’s conference as the solution to a report on the state of women-owned businesses by American Express Open, that said women-owned businesses are growing at a rate of 29% – faster than any others – but they only represent six percent of revenue. Mom Grows a Business will cater to women who already own businesses, and all of its speakers are women who have grown companies with six-to-seven-figure revenue, while raising children.

“We will share strategies and offer workshops on how to understand your mission, make the choices that will create more money for your business – and trust the magic that starts to happen when you are doing your work in the world,” Lennon said.
