“This is, by far, the most lyrical body of work I’ve released,” One Take confidently said. “I’m an artist. I love to create. And ‘Coming For Everything’ is a true example of my art – musically and sonically.”
The mixtape’s single “Verrazano” has made internet buzz around the country popping up on indie Billboard charts and gaining momentum from online fans with YouTube lyric videos and remakes done by social media mavens.
“My musical career began when I was born honestly,” Take said. “I have been influenced and surrounded by music since I was young; whether it was my dad playing reggae music throughout the house or me deciding to join the school band and chorus.” He continued: “I came to the realization around the end of seventh into eighth grade that making music was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”
About One Take:
Growing up with Caribbean parents, Reggae artists like Bob Marley and Dennis Brown would be some of One Take’s first musical influences. His uncle was a road manager for hip-hop legend Big Daddy Kane. It wasn’t long before One Take picked up the pen and started to put words together himself. When he got his first home studio, he prided himself on being able to record his verses in one take; the serendipity to his stage name. As a songwriter, One Take credits his versatility to his childhood. Moving with his family various places throughout the tri-state area forced him to blend in with various cultures. This gave him the ability to make music for all.
