Mallorca, the ideal villa holiday destination for food lovers

You certainly don’t have to look far when you are looking for reason to take a villa holiday in one of our villas in Mallorca. Already, the largest of the Balearic Islands boasts wonderful beaches, traditional towns to explore and plenty of scenic countryside, and now it is fast becoming a destination for those in search of the finest food & drink.

Enjoying a country’s traditional menu is one part of a holiday that is not to be missed, and Mallorca certainly has a whole host of restaurants, cafes and bars for you to experience and enjoy.

Just this month, two more Mallorcan restaurants have been awarded a Michelin star in the associations Spain and Portugal‘s 2012 edition. Already Mallorca has a number of restaurants that have not only received an award but have retained it.

One of the newly celebrated and awarded restaurants is Restaurante Jardin, located in the port of Alcudia not far from our villas in Pollensa, the family owned establishment is a great reason to visit the area during a villa holiday.

Even if you don’t get the chance to head to one of the island’s Michelin star restaurants, there are plenty of wonderful other venues to enjoy a taste of the Mediterranean. If your idea of relaxing and fun is to cook, then Mallorca has plenty of traditional bakeries and delicatessens stocking many gastronomic treats and ingredients to give your dishes a rustic, Balearic feel.
