The University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc. and the clinical faculty of the University of Maryland School of Medicine recently announced a partnership with Ken Banks, President of Banks Contracting Company, who will serve as an ambassador to improve and expand the quality of healthcare worldwide.  William Tucker who serves as the Chief Corporate Officer for the University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc. and the Associate Dean for Practice Plan Affairs for the School of Medicine, refers to Banks as a “trusted advisor to our medical school and clinical enterprise”.  Tucker also stated that, “Mr. Banks is acknowledged as an expert in strategic partnerships, having developed multiple business alliances with numerous multi-national organizations.”  Mr. Banks’ role in the University of Maryland School of Medicine clinical faculty partnership will focus on these key objectives: to provide international strategic introductions, health care design, clinical care management, and leadership. Mr. Banks’ efforts will also include providing specific advice on identifying opportunities for expanding leading clinical programs such as shock trauma and telemedicine services, on a global basis.

This partnership with the University of Maryland Faculty Physicians and the School of Medicine clinical faculty is part of Ken’s greater venture as an international business development strategist. Even in his philanthropic endeavors, Banks supports innovative projects that will have an impact on communities around the world.   The University of Maryland School of Medicine has already established itself as an international leader in medical innovations through its completion of the world’s most extensive face transplant, international trials to study an Ebola vaccine, Proton Treatment Center for cancer patients, and world-renowned Shock Trauma Program. “The School of Medicine has so many cutting edge advanced treatments that will improve the quality of life for so many people. I am looking forward to the opportunity to help develop partnerships for them to reach more people around the globe”, says Banks.

Mr. Banks serves on several boards including the University of Maryland School of Medicine Board of Visitors, the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Board of Visitors, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health – Health Advisory Board, Maryland Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Board of Directors, and the Chair of the 25th Anniversary of the American Heart Association Gala in Baltimore.

In 2015 Mr. Banks will continue his mission to develop international partnerships while traveling to Cuba, Colombia, Morocco, United Kingdom, China, Nepal, India, Indonesia, France, and the United Arab Emirates.
