Dale Wickizer to Drive Cloud Management Innovation

Ostrato, the developer of cloudSMTM, the easiest to use cloud management platform, today announced that Dale Wickizer will be joining the senior management team as Chief Technology Officer.  Dale starts November 10 and will be joining the technology team as they exhibit from November 11th-14th at AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas.

Before joining Ostrato, Dale was the Chief Technology Officer of the U. S. Public Sector at NetApp, Inc. His responsibilities included setting future technology and product direction for the Public Sector group and managing key customer relationships. Before starting at NetApp, Dale was an Associate Partner and an IT Infrastructure Architect at Accenture, where he was responsible for helping Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies plan and execute IT transformations, data center consolidations, and rollouts of large enterprise applications and storage infrastructures, to help those companies reduce cost and be more competitive. Dale played a fundamental part in establishing strong alliances between Accenture and key storage vendors (such as EMC and NetApp), and was viewed across the firm as a storage expert.

Preceding his years at Accenture, Dale was a senior systems analyst for GRC International. He was involved in the design of high-resolution acquisition, tracking and pointing systems for the Strategic Defense Initiative. Also, as a contractor to NASA headquarters, he served as the Flight Operations Manager for the Earth Observing System and developed and built a desktop shuttle simulator for the Manned Space Flight Program. Before leaving GRC International, Dale gained IT experience by helping design their corporate-wide network and managing one of their data centers. Prior to his job at GRCI, Dale served in the U. S. Navy, working at Naval Reactors for Admiral Rickover, leading the design of fault tolerant reactor protection systems for nuclear submarines. Dale holds both a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

He also completed Reactor Design School at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory as part of his Navy training.
