The Adventure Company offers a 5 day school tour to Iceland thought the year. Iceland has been our biggest selling trip this year. Two of our School Adventures team travelled to Iceland to check out themselves the highlights this amazing country has to offer Geography students on a school tour. Antony Barton who runs the School Adventures team at The Adventure Company commented “For me snorkelling in the Silfra fissure was an amazing experience – I’ve dived in many locations but I’ve never seen such incredible visibility, over 60 meters in places. It really brings the power of nature to life – you can literally see the evidence of rifting of the continental plates in front of you.” Jennifer Harris, one of our most experienced travel consultants said – “I loved the glacier hike, the shapes and colour of the ice changed as we moved up the glacier. We were kitted out with ice axes and crampons. We had a local guide who took time to point out how crevasses are formed.”
Our five day school tours to Iceland includes all the main highlights including a half day Reykjavik on wheels tour, Þingvellir National Park, Snorkelling in the crystal clear water of Silfrá fissure, exploring an Icelandic lava cave, viewing the impressive Gulfoss, Skógarfoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls, experiencing the power and force of the Great Geysir, hiking on Sólheimajökull glacier, spending time on the famous Black sand beaches, seeing the Eyjaflallajökull Erupts exhibition and relaxing in the Blue Lagoon. Students can also take a boat trip to the Westman Islands for a full day exploring the area where a volcano destroyed an entire town .
