The annual York Food and Drink Festival takes place in September from 16th to the 25th, the festival features and highlights a wealth of quality food and produce that can be found within the region of Yorkshire. This year’s festival theme is "Dine at My Table", so this will be the main focus of the many displays, demonstration and exhibits.

The annual York Food and Drink Festival takes place in September from 16th to the 25th, the festival features and highlights a wealth of quality food and produce that can be found within the region of Yorkshire.

This year’s festival theme is “Dine at My Table”, so this will be the main focus of the many displays, demonstration and exhibits. There will be two main areas of focus to the event; the free entry area is situated in Parliament Street, which consists of the markets, demonstration area, Yorkshire Bar and information point. There will be a marquee which will enclose the city’s fountain in Parliament Street, making this an evening venue for festival events. There are also secondary venues at the York Guildhall, The Mansion House and other selected venues across the city of York, which will feature a varied daytime and evening program of events, some of these event will be ticket only, but many are free.

Visitors to the York Food and Drink Festival can obtain a Festival booklet, which contains lots of money off offers for various products and at different venues, many are 2 for 1 offer’s, the booklet has a total of £100 of money off vouchers during the course of the festival.

Some examples of what is in store for festival goers are; food tastings, drinks events, the Yorkshire Bar – Ale Trail from CAMRA, cookery demonstrations, cookery classes and workshops, there will also be exhibitor stands for showing off a wide range of local exhibits. There will also be two main cafés set within large marquees that will cater for most people needs. York Food and Drink Festival is a unique event because it is set in and around the City of York’s many amazing historic venues.
