House Safe Inspections are seeing a new breed of Building Inspector, women are making their mark

Industry: Home & Garden

Women are proving to be better building inspectors, pest inspectors and pre-purchase inspectors in a predominantly male-dominated industry.

Australia (PRUnderground) February 14th, 2014

Women have been breaking through the glass ceiling in recent times and now they are breaking through the ‘brick walls’ – the walls of the predominantly male-dominated building and pest inspection industry.

Howard Ryan, CEO of Housesafe Inspections Training & Education, a national training entity for the residential building and inspection industries has noticed that wives or partners of pest and building inspectors are taking the opportunity to do the Housesafe courses for free as an added resource for their partner’s business.

Housesafe inspections have been offering an extra place on the courses for partners of building and pest inspectors as a way of offering more value.

“So far the women who have completed the courses are so far the highest % earners in overall scoring in the Housesafe Q&A and Assignments on the day of the training” Ryan said.

Women wanting to break into the Building and Pest inspection industry can contact Housesafe Inspections for details or their local TAFE.
