Stephen Merchant is set to bring his “Hello Ladies” tour to London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo later this year.
The BAFTA award winning Stephen Merchant is best known for being the sidekick to Ricky Gervais, co-writing and -starring in ‘The Office’ and ‘Extras’. More recently, Stephen has starred in the Hollywood movie ‘Hall Pass’ with Owen Wilson, been immortalized in cartoon form in ‘The Ricky Gervais Show’ and worked as a producer on the hit Sky One show ‘An Idiot Abroad’.
The West Country born star is no stranger to stand up comedy having previously performed at numerous open mic nights and the Edinburgh Festival, but ‘Hello Ladies’ will be his first nationwide stand up tour.
The show is billed as an attempt to find Stephen a wife by exploring his failing love life and the difficulty he has had in finding a partner. His show is expected to be less controversial than the notorious Gervais but there will be some “naughtiness” in there.
Stephen will be appearing at the Apollo from Monday 28th November to Thursday 1st December 2011, the last dates on the UK leg of his tour. Tickets are still available for all London shows at the time of writing.
