HF Holidays adds year-round cycling on Sardinia for 2013

For an all year round cycling holidays destination that offers rewarding climbs amid stunning scenery, HF Holidays suggests its – new for 2013 – seven-night Flavours of Sardinia selfguided cycling holiday.

Daily cycling distances are between 15 and 35 miles around the northwestern part of the island, taking in this region’s superb coastal scenery, archaeological sites, natural beauty spots, castles and wonderful cuisine.

Starting in the charming old town of Alghero – with its old fortifications and historic centre – highlights of the holiday include Bosa – a medieval town famous for its fine embroidery and gold filigree work; the settlement and sacred well of Santa Cristina dating back to 1800BC as well as a wealth of archaeological remains at Tharros.

In addition to cycling along scenic coastal roads and through a spectacular landscape of vineyards and olive groves, the route also takes in the marine conservation area of Sinis – home to pink flamingos and herons – the white quartz beach of Is Arutas and the springs of San Leonardo (the richest source of water in Sardinia).

Available year-round, the cost for these activity holidays is from £785 per person, twin-share inclusive of seven nights’ accommodation with breakfast in good quality three-star hotels, luggage transfers between hotels, cycle hire, airport transfers, plus route notes and maps.

Accommodation on a half-board basis is available for a supplement of £150 per person. Travel to destination is extra.
