Gratwick Films Has A Wild Eye For Social Change In The Culture Filmmaking
GRATWICK FILMS IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THEIR DVD PARTNERSHIP WITH WILD EYE TO DISTRIBUTE THEIR FIRST FILM “THE PERFECT HOUSE”.
Los Angeles, CA (PRUnderground) February 5th, 2014
Gratwick Films is happy to share new details on their DVD partnership with Wild Eye to distribute their first film, The Perfect House for a summer release. The film marked Gratwick’s first stab at history when it was the first film ever to premiere on Facebook. The forward-thinking production company has again made history by recently releasing a business plan for “Social Filmmaking” as an open source document for the independent film community. The company intends to share their efforts to execute this model with their next feature Just Drive.
The Perfect House is an anthology inspired by the most famous time periods in horror films. The dark side of suburban anonymity and the many motives for murder are all explored through three terrifying vignettes set inside one house. Each story takes place in a new time period with a new homeowner, and pays homage to a prolific sub genre of horror.
Company executives Kris Hulbert and Andrea Vahl created Gratwick Films; a production company that specializes in smart, edgy feature films with socially conscious business models. As neophyte filmmakers, these executives naively gave up their homes to take their first film on a 12,000 mile grassroots tour around the country. Then for 45 straight days they were fueled by nothing more for gas money than donations after free shows in backyards, bars, theaters and hilltops around the country. The entire journey was documented on the company’s YouTube channel and edited into a free interactive documentary called the TPHtour. Additionally, viewers will find exclusive content of everything the production company is working on.
Presently, the company is on its way to once again make history with their next film, a contained thriller about the dark side of human ambition entitled Just Drive. As such, they are currently attempting to raise more than 10,000 Youtube subscribers so they can shoot the film at the Youtube Studios and give a portion of the proceeds to a charity voted on by the production team. This socially conscious production company believes in entertainment through enlightenment. Over the next several months, they will be doing a social experiment in social filmmaking by using transmedia marketing to document and share their efforts to execute every detail of the Social Filmmaking business plan with the film Just Drive.
“Social Filmmaking is not the answer to independent filmmakers’ prayers. It’s a starting point for a discussion and process that can evolve to a point that benefits not just the filmmaking community, but the audience and the society we all live in together,” commented, Gratwick Films executive, Kris Hulbert.
