Opening on September 14, 2010, the offerings will include four lots carefully curated by the G&G editors to reflect the magazine’s passion for elegant design, superb entertaining, and Southern culture.

Garden & Gun is pleased to announce their third installment of exclusive online auctions in partnership with iGavelAuctions. Opening on September 14, 2010, the offerings will include four lots carefully curated by the G&G editors to reflect the magazine’s passion for elegant design, superb entertaining, and Southern culture. Members of the Garden & Gun Club will have exclusive access to preview auction lots before they open to the public.
Highlights from this auction include:
Lot 1: Private Dinner Party with the Lee Brothers in New York City – This stylishly southern fête includes an exclusive dinner for eight with wine pairings prepared by culinary aficionados and James Beard Award-winning authors, Matt Lee and Ted Lee at a private Upper West Side residence in New York City.
Lot 2: Custom-Designed Furniture by Darryl Carter & the G&G Library of Design Books – This lot features an elegant daybed conceived for G&G by esteemed interior designer, Darryl Carter. Perfect for a range of interiors, the daybed is upholstered in a soft white durable textile that has the hand of kidskin leather. To accompany the piece is a collection of G&G’s favorite architecture books from the Beehive Foundation – a must-have for tastemaker’s personal library.
Lot 3: New Orleans Insider’s Weekend – Experience “The Big Easy” in G&G style. This package for two includes a weekend stay at French Quarter favorite, the Soniat House, along with exclusive culinary experiences with two of New Orleans’ most celebrated chefs – John Besh and Donald Link. NOLA’s reigning queen of style, Julia Reed will host the winning bidder for cocktails and arrange a private tour of the famed Ogden Museum followed by champagne in the courtyard at the city’s standout antique store, Lucullus.
Lot 4: Custom-Designed Letterpressed Stationery – Acclaimed design house, Sideshow Press, will create a custom stationery suite to reflect the winning bidder’s true style and appreciation of the art of letter writing. Sideshow’s stunning stock is printed on a traditional letterpress machine, representing the finest materials in written correspondence.
A portion of proceeds from the Garden & Gun auctions will contribute to organizations that focus on preserving the distinct arts and cultures of the American South. The non-profit partners for the Fall auction include the Southern Foodways Alliance (SFA), the American College of Building Arts (ACBA), the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, and Lowcountry Open Land Trust.
