Franchise Gator Launches Efforts To Assist Veterans Interested In Purchasing A Franchise

Changes to Franchise Gator website set to take place in anticipation of Veteran's Day.

Roswell, GA (PRUnderground) November 10th, 2014

On Monday, November 10th, Franchise Gator will make changes to their website aimed at helping veterans make an informed decision in their search for a franchise opportunity.

The efforts commence with a VetFran sponsorship.  VetFran, a program under IFA’s Education Foundation and a 501c3 non-profit, has been helping veterans in their franchising efforts for 23 years.  VetFran members “voluntarily offer financial discounts, mentorship, and training for aspiring veteran franchisees and veterans,” according to its website.

Franchise Gator will also be pointing veterans to the VetFran Toolkit.  The Toolkit contains information aimed at educating veterans as they explore the world of franchising.

“We’ve been looking for ways to assist in IFA’s efforts to support the veteran community,” says Eric Bell, General Manager at Franchise Gator.  “We sought advice on the best way to get involved, and what we heard was a desire for the franchise portals to help educate veterans on how to be smart and informed as they explore franchise opportunities.  For those seeking franchise ownership, there are a lot of choices, and a lot of franchises offer veteran discounts and other veteran incentives.  It can be overwhelming.  We hope pointing to the VetFran Toolkit ensures Franchise Gator visitors head down the right path.”

This hits close to home for one of Gator’s own, Rex White, Franchise Gator’s Director of Development.  White, a Navy veteran as well as a former franchise owner, knows how important it is for fellow veterans to have the right tools.

“With over 15 years in the franchising industry in capacities including that of a franchisee, I now more than ever believe in franchising and think its a great opportunity for anyone, let alone veterans”, he writes in a recent article published on Franchise Gator’s website. “There’s no doubt in my mind that franchising is a solid plan for a vet looking to start their own business. But you need to examine not only the franchise opportunity you have your eye on, but yourself.”

“Resources like the VetFran Toolkit are specifically designed to aid veterans in these kinds of decisions so they can make the right one,” White adds. “I strongly encourage them to make use of it.”

The initiative comes in time for Veteran’s Day, November 11.  Franchise Gator plans on promoting the efforts on both their home page and in the Veterans section.
