Electrical retail firms are driving sales upwards with the use of Voucher Codes

Electrical Retailers trading online are finding a useful advantage of driving their sales up, by using voucher codes & discount codes to offer extra discounts of electrical items online.

This summer’s inner-city riots have hit electrical retailers hard, however online sales are continuing their upward trend, say the UK’s leading voucher codes website, VoucherMole.co.uk

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has reported that electrical goods retailers have been particularly affected over recent months, with sales at Comet down 22% in May-July. However, online and mail order sales continue to grow and are up by 40.2% year-on-year.

“On the face of it, when looking at sales figures, particularly of electrical companies such as Comet, Currys, Dell and PC World, there seems to be a lot of doom and gloom,” said a spokesperson for VoucherMole.co.uk. “However closer analysis shows that there are reasons to be cheerful, as online sales continue to grow. While this doesn’t equate to a satisfying picture overall we believe that strong e-commerce functions could prove to be highly valuable to retailers over the coming months.”

Today’s youth may hold the key to such optimism as, according to the Centre for Economics and Business Research, over the last year around 90% of 25-34 year-olds have purchased products over the internet, either by PC or mobile phone.

“This trend of young consumers being really active in making online purchases can give even the most downbeat retailers hope – particularly electrical specialists in fact,” added VoucherMole.co.uk. “We all know that the current generation are particularly savvy when it comes to technology and electrical products so companies maybe need to take advantage of this by gearing their products more towards this market with the power of Discount Codes helping to drive sales upwards.”

Cisco’s recent ‘Connected World Technology Report’ further illustrated young people’s reliance on the internet, which is described as being as ‘vital as air’. It also found that well over half of students and employees in their 20s said they couldn’t live without it.

Elsewhere, the ONS have reported that 45% of internet users had used their mobile phones to browse the web, indicating that there is now more opportunity and enthusiasm for logging on, browsing and buying than ever before.
