Doublie, home of a popular iPhone app that allows users to remix images and create their own memes on the go, today announced that it has taken a look at meme activity around the latest pop culture happenings. Meme round-ups have focused on the shocking events from the last two episodes of Game of Thrones’ fifth season, as well as the new Pixar movie Inside-Out, the third season of Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, and more.

“The best TV shows and movies hold mirrors up to our modern society and ask us to reflect on a few things after the shocks, gasps, and jokes are done,” said Doublie CEO Shane Walker. “Doublie enjoys following those trends as they’re expressed through memes, since they give us a window into how people are reflecting on what they’ve experienced..”

“Game of Thrones: Red Wedding Beats Shireen” is a statistical analysis of meme-driven reactions to another shocking fifth season event, the immolation of an innocent character. Those reactions have been compared to how meme creators responded when the infamous “Red Wedding” happened toward the end of season three.

“Check Your Emotions: Best of Pixar’s Inside-Out Memes” is a humorous rundown of the best memes around Pixar’s latest animated hit film. The Disney-owned studio again managed to tap into many viewers’ basic emotions, and the memes reflected that.

“Sorry Not Sorry: Best Orange is the New Black Memes” takes a look at the popular Netflix show’s recently released third season, which brought out a variety of reactions from its most hardcore fans.

“NBC Cancels Hannibal: Best Memes Round-Up” examines fans’ responses to the cancelling of one of their favorite shows. Could it find a new home on Netflix, a cable channel, or elsewhere? Doublie will continue following the story if that happens.
