Doctor’s Ambulance Service provides Life-Saving CPR training and certifications to more than 50 San Juan Capistrano Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers.
San Juan Capistrano, CA (PRUnderground) November 17th, 2014
Disaster readiness is something the City of San Juan Capistrano takes very seriously. In the event of a large scale emergency local EMS could be overwhelmed leaving some neighborhoods to fend for themselves. In an effort to mitigate the effects of such an event the city of San Juan Capistrano actively recruits citizens to participate in its annual CERT program. Doctor’s understands the value of CERT and its positive affect on communities where the program is implemented. As part of its outreach program, Doctor’s donates First Aid and CPR training to the CERT volunteers. On Monday, November 3rd at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center, 25925 Camino Del Avion. Doctor’s provided 52 residents with CPR certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA). Each participant proved their worthiness by demonstrating that they possess the skills necessary to save a life using CPR and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
“We are thankful that the City of San Juan has such a robust CERT program. They foster the empowerment of their citizens through emergency preparedness training which translates into saved lives and improved outcomes. This program offers Doctor’s a very “hands-on” opportunity to show how much we care by getting directly involved in their community.” Explains Stephen Dotoratos, Doctor’s Community Education Coordinator.
