Discovered Indian Singer Goes Viral On YouTube

A Dubai-based Indian singer, musician and song-writer based in Dubai set YouTube ablaze on Sunday with his first offering ‘Ranjhann’ – a tribute to the legendary Indian film-maker Yash Chopra. The song has been shot in iconic locations in New York City and features Aaryan himself and introduces Shaista Shenoy. The video was released at 10:11pm on 10/11/12 in Dubai at a private event. In 72 hours, the music video has received over 1 million views on YouTube.

Producer & Director Shiraz Gidwani felt very strongly about dedicating Aaryan’s first musical foray to the recently deceased Yash Chopra.  ”Yash Uncle was one of the most beautiful people in the world and this has been our humble tribute to him”, said Gidwani. “With his last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan’s musical offering, he gave us ‘Heer’. We have responded with Ranjha”, he added.

Aaryan’s soulful voice was discovered by Gidwani in 2008 on YouTube and a four year journey culminates with Aaryan’s launch on 12.12.12. A product of IIT Roorkee and Harvard University, Aaryan has trained under the celebrated music directors Sajid-Wajid’s father, the world-renowned Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan.
