DAWGS Expands Vacant Property Security Operations to Dayton and Springfield Ohio

Industry: Real Estate

Door And Window Guard Systems Inc. (D.A.W.G.S), a provider of steel window and door guards developed for vacant property security, recently announced an expansion into the Dayton and Springfield Ohio Metro Markets

Chicago, Illinois (PRUnderground) October 6th, 2014

Door And Window Guard Systems Inc. (D.A.W.G.S), a provider of steel window and door guards developed for vacant property security, recently announced an expansion into the Dayton and Springfield Ohio Metro Markets. This announcement comes on the heels of DAWGS’ expansion into Detroit and Toledo.

The Dayton/Springfield area is still recovering from the shut down of a major automotive plant in 2008, which impacted over 33,000 workers in the immediate and surrounding area.  In January of 2010, Manufacturing and Technology News reported the economic impact of the plant closures to be more than $700M.  This loss resulted in an increase in foreclosed and vacant properties.

The good news is the Dayton and Springfield economy and housing market is steadily rebounding.  From August 2012 to August 2013 home buying increased 19% according to the Dayton-area Board of Realtors.  In addition, when Movato Real Estate compiled a list of the most attractive mid-sized cities in September 2014, Dayton ranked number three on the list.

That may be why real estate investors are attracted to the area to rehab and return vacant and bank-owned properties to the market. For real estate investors, from part-time flippers to institutional professionals, a major concern with vacant properties is security.  The materials used to remodel a house can be an attractive target for criminals looking to turn a quick dollar.

As a leader in vacant property security, DAWGS impenetrable, proprietary door and window guards are uniquely designed to prevent theft, vandalism, and uninvited occupation.

“There is a lot of real estate investment in Dayton and Springfield. We love growing communities,” said Jim Glass, VP Engineering at DAWGS. “DAWGS protects real estate agents, home-owners, investors and contractors, provides security and peace of mind to residents living near vacant and foreclosed properties.  We also believe in reinvesting in the community and are hiring local installation crews.”
