ConnectedSign, LLC Teams Up With Spooky Nook Sports

ConnectedSign stepped up to the plate and hit it out of the park at Spooky Nook Sports! The 700,000 square foot indoor sports complex, Spooky Nook Sports, located in Manheim, Pennsylvania has deployed an advanced digital signage system with ConnectedSign, a full-service provider of digital signage software, hardware, and content. The country’s largest indoor sports facility wanted to implement digital signage displays in order to communicate messages and events throughout the complex in a stimulating fashion. In the initial phase, Spooky Nook Sports wanted to display various types of digital signage, including:

• Digital menu boards for their food service areas
• Signage displays for their climbing menu
• Vertical dual-screen display
• Way-finding map display
• Video wall

The digital signage displays at Spooky Nook Sports are not only visually appealing, but also informative in the sense that it enables guests and staff to access information about social events, summer camps and programs, service hours, tournaments, and much more in an organized and creative way.

“This project was different than most”, says Zach Kolodziejski, lead interface designer at ConnectedSign. “This wasn’t a deployment at a location that was already established. It was growing as we were working on the project. As you said, it’s the largest sports complex in the country, so there isn’t really a point of reference that you can really comprehend until you are physically on site. A 55” inch display looks large when it’s in a waiting room lobby, but when you’re in an area that is about a half-acre alone, graphically, you have to think ahead and make sure things aren’t too small, or looking out of place.”

The touchscreen kiosk will be the newest signage equipment to be added at the Spooky Nook Sports facility. “ConnectedSign did a great job of taking our design concepts and bringing them to life” said Stephanie Jordan, Marketing Coordinator at Spooky Nook Sports. “The way -finding maps are an asset for both our staff and guests and the signs are a hit, especially with the families and the kids that come in. The acquisition of an interactive touchscreen will be a great addition and will allow our guests to physically interact with the signs, giving them a one of a kind experience when they walk into our facility.”

Our work with Spooky Nook does not stop on the first floor. With multiple meeting rooms on the second floor, some of which are capable of accommodating over one hundred guests, more displays will be deployed to fit Spooky Nook’s needs. Also, the addition of their hotel will be a super-sized project in itself, but one that requires the same skill and teamwork it took for the first phase of Spooky Nook’s signage deployment. You can expect the hotel to include vibrant, animated signage that will be lighting up the hallways from floor to floor.

By having the proper tools and expertise, ConnectedSign was able to create Spooky Nook’s vision for their project. With Loren Bucklin, President of ConnectedSign, leading the project along with the creative team, twenty displays have already been deployed at Spooky Nook, and more will be added to this total as the sports complex continues to blossom.
