Colorado Springs $60 Million Theater Construction to Begin Summer 2015 says Construction Reporter

Colorado Springs already has five theater companies–two major–and a vibrant theater community it has been building since the 1970’s.  The new Ent Center for the Arts will act as both a visual and performing arts center.  It will house the University’s Gallery of Contemporary Art, offices, rehearsal and instructional studio space, as well as UCCS’s TheatreWorks company and the all the University’s dance and theater programs.

The new center came about through  a partnership between the local Ent Federal Credit Union and UCCS, and involved the University signing a 15-year marketing and operating agreement with Ent to give staff, faculty and students the possibility of opening an Ent checking account and debit card which could be used for their university photo ID.

As a result of the partnership, the credit union will be constructing a free-standing service center on the campus.

Semple Brown Design out of Denver is the architect of record for the project, and has just completed initial design plans for the Ent Center.  The full design will be overseen by HS Hardy Collaborative Architecture of New York.
