Folk musician Laura Marling has announced a one-off show at the legendary Royal Albert Hall venue, with fans being advised to book their tickets and London hotels soon to avoid disappointment.
Steadily expanding her fanbase since the release of Alas, I Cannot Swim in early 2008, Marling has now become one of the most respected singer-songwriters in the UK and is enjoying widespread critical and, increasingly, commercial success.
Once a member of Noah and the Whale, Marling first rose to prominence with a showstopping performance of the song ‘New Romantic’ on Later… with Jools Holland when she was aged just 17.
Since then, Marling has added two more albums – I Speak Because I Can and last year’s A Creature I Don’t Know – to her canon, with the former helping her to a surprise victory in the Best British Female category at the 2011 Brit Awards.
Marling will be coming to the Royal Albert Hall on July 7th to perform what is currently her only planned UK performance of the year.
