The hit musical based on the music of the Californian punk group has been playing to Broadway crowds in the states and is now winging its way across the Atlantic to rock crowds in the UK.

The award winning show features music from the Grammy winning album ‘American Idiot’ and the plot is taken and expanded from the story featured on the 2004 concept album.

The UK tour will start off in Southampton at the Mayflower theatre on October 9th, before heading to Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dublin, Manchester, Birmingham and finally rounding off the tour at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London from December 4th to the 9th.

The producers have reportedly stated that if the tour does well, they hope to transfer the show to the West End.
