Book a room with the LSE and enjoy the Cabaret Mechanical Theatre

Industry: Travel & Leisure

Running until September 7th and free to attend, this exhibition features all the favourite characters and creations belonging to the celebrated Cabaret Mechanical Theatre

London (PRUnderground) August 21st, 2012

The much-loved Cabaret Mechanical Theatre is currently making a summer-long appearance at the innovative Space Station Sixty-Five art space in East Dulwich, and provides the perfect opportunity for anyone planning a stay at a bed and breakfast in London with the LSE soon to experience one of the many fine cultural attractions that have filled the city this year.

Scheduled to run until September 7th and completely free to attend, this unique exhibition features all the favourite characters and creations belonging to the celebrated Cabaret Mechanical Theatre, a quirky art project which started life in Falmouth, Cornwall in the late 1970s and has since grown into a national treasure, appreciated by both craftspeople and members of the public from around the world.

The CMT display is an intriguing collection of contemporary automata by artists like Paul Spooner and Keith Newstead, which are set into movement simply by the touch of a button. Highlights include a miniature circus, a lifelike peacock and, perhaps most bizarrely, a man eating copious amounts of spaghetti in the bath.

Just one example of the countless artistic exhibitions and cultural highlights that will be gracing the capital throughout what remains of this landmark year, the Cabaret Mechanical Theatre will be well worth attending for anyone who is staying at one of the great quality hostels in London available from the LSE shortly.
