Nik Kokotovich has launched his DIY Home Renovator, Owner Builder & DIY Projects full of 'how do' advice and much more.

At last home renovators, owner builders and the DIY project enthusiast have a place to source advice from an expert who has been in the building industry for many years. A DIY owner builder and renovator blog has been created by building expert, Nik Kokotovich.
“I have a passion for helping others who may not know where to go for advice when it comes to the DIY renovator or owner builder” says Kokotovich.
The blog is a wealth of information on business and DIY projects for the owner builder & home renovator and is updated regularly by Nik. Some topics covered are: Using an architect, draftsman, building, building contractors, costing, contracts, extensions and additions, house and land package, kitchens, mindset, owner builder, planning, project home builder, rubbish removal plus a list of recommended resources. Nik also demonstrates and explains on ‘how to’ do certain things.
Nik is the Managing Director of Building Services Group and Kruger Carpets, an achievement he is extremely proud of considering he was a 15-year-old high school dropout and was told by his teachers that he “was never going to amount to anything”. Despite his success today, Nik’s journey has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs and he shares his wealth of knowledge with his readers.
Nik started his building career as an apprentice and became a fully qualified builder in 1998. With a yearning as a child to join the police force, Nik left the building industry and did just that. During his time as a Senior Constable, Nik received many accolades as a hero, including being nominated for Police Officer of the Year in 2005 and 2006 for his work in bringing down an Asian Drug Ring as well as a Bravery Award for being instrumental in saving the life of a 14-year-old boy in a house fire. He was presented with the Award from the Governor of the Commonwealth of Australia and received a letter from Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth. He was also awarded a Bronze Medallion from the Royal Humane Society.
Leaving the police force, Nik started his own multi-million dollar turnover building business, which eventually he liquidated due to the GFC, he then went on to educate himself and started business again. Today he is the Managing Director of both BSG Building Services and Kruger Carpets.
“I spend less than 4 hours a day on both my businesses and spend quality time with my family” says Kokotovich.
With more free time Nik has dedicated himself to educating others. Nik’s mission is to educate the DIY homeowner of the pitfalls, regulations, red-tape and have a reference place for people to turn to when they need some advice
