Dr. William Agor, PsyD, owner of Agor Behavioral Health Service, Inc., announces a new location for the practice has opened in Naperville, Illinois. To welcome new clients to the practice, free 20-minute consultations are being offered at the Naperville location.
Agor Behavioral Health Services specializes in helping clients pinpoint problem areas and the develop a plan to overcome the problems and achieve success. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all remedy and the staff is committed to helping clients figure out what will work for each individual. Services include individual, family and group therapy, as well as Psychological Testing, Assessment or Evaluation. The practice also offers Neuropsychological Testing, Parental Education, Support and Coaching, as well as therapy for young children.
“Many people are hesitant to try therapy,” stated Agor, “Offering a 20-minute consultation gives people a chance to become comfortable with the idea.”
Therapists providing the free consultations at the new office include Dr. Sarah Syed, PsyD; Lisa Eaton, MSW, LCSW, CADC; and Jennifer Loughran, LCSW.
Dr. Sarah Syed brings a wide range of experience in the psychology field to the practice, including diagnostic and vocational testing, career counseling, domestic violence, addictions, Muslim and South Asian issues, and family and couples therapy. She sees therapy as an opportunity to explore the biological, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of the whole person.
“I believe every individual, couple, and family are unique and bring their own set of experiences to therapy,” said Syed, regarding therapy. “I work with my clients in a way that is comfortable to them and respects their values and beliefs.”
Lisa Eaton has experience treating young children, adolescents, families and those with substance abuse issues. Her speciality areas include childhood depression, anxiety, ADHD, and bipolar disorder; adolescent and adult substance abuse issues; parent training and child behavior issues; family conflict and divorce; and treating childhood trauma, including PTSD.
“I care about helping people find and learn to believe in their own abilities,” said Eaton, when asked why she is in this profession. “We are always stronger and more resilient than we realize, and helping others to see and feel that is really inspiring for me.”
Jennifer Loughran has extensive experience working with individuals, children, adolescents, families, and groups. She believes that when people are experiencing difficult times in their lives, the combination of support and introduction to new skills will provide a sense of relief and the ability to cope with day to day struggles.
Loughran felt the calling to a career in Social Services since high school. “I was fortunate enough to be assigned teachers that not only put in the effort to teach academic lessons but also very important social emotional life lessons,” she explained. “My teachers’ interest in myself as more than an academic student left me feeling empowered. The feeling of empowerment quickly sparked a desire within me to provide the same feeling for others.”
