After Dinner World booked Lee Sharpe for Old Trafford Tournament
Six teams from across the North West took part in a The Christie Dream Team Cup tournament at Old Trafford, to fundraise for Christies Hospital.

On May 21st, football teams from the North West played in a tournament at the famous Old Trafford stadium, to raise funds for The Christie Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The tournament is named the The Christie Dream Team Cup.
Funds raised at the event will benefit teenage and younger cancer patients at The Christie. It will support the new Palatine Treatment Centre. The new centre provides 31 state-of-the art clinical beds for haematology and transplant patients and teenage and young adult patients. The new facilities boasts a music room, gym, and relaxation areas for young patients.
After the matches, played in scorching hea, the players headed for onbe of the suites overlooking the Theatre of Dreams pitch. There they enjoyed a post-tournament meal, presenations, and former Manchester United winger, Lee Sharpe gave an after dinner talk.
Over £30, 000 was raised through The Christie’s partnership with Manchester United, which is managed by Manchester United Foundation.
Lee Sharpe started his professional football career with Torquay United, and after just 16 games, Manchester United signed him for £200k, which at the time was a record for a Youth Training Scheme (YTS) player.
Lee scored a hat-trick when united played Arsenal away, and was an key player in European Cup Winners Cup in the 90-91 season. He retired from professional football in 2003. This charming and humorous chap went on more recently to take on TV roles and has been in Dancing on Ice, and Celebrity Love Island.
