Nowadays, Organic Moringa shall add value to farmer, producer and consumer .The work done in India have clearly indicated that Moringa can be grown organically for producing pods and leaves for vegetable (Ramya 2005 and Prabhakar et al 2007 ).
In 3rd Global Moringa Meet information on good agricultural practices for growing Moringa organically shall be presented based on the studies carried out on the performance of annual Moringa. The crop was raised with protective irrigation through drip and organic nutrient supply according to treatments tested was supplied through green leaf manuring (GLM), farm yard manure (FYM) enriched with biofertizers, rock phosphate, ash and neem cake. Appropriate crop care and warranted plant protection measures were adopted using botanicals and biopesticides which shall be briefed and demonstrated in the Moringa workshop including
Planting Season & Soil
Crop care and Pest and Disease management practices
Organic Nursery rising and Transplanting
Bio-agents for foliar and fruit diseases and soil borne organisms
Bio-agents and Botanicals for management of insect pests
